A little bit about me, personally: I’m from Michigan (born and raised) and Chicago (between 1998 and 2008). For six years I was an attorney working for a judge (the judges and my co-workers were fabulous, the law – not so interesting for me!). I fell in love with the most wonderful Canadian guy, Jody, (from Vancouver) after we met through our old blogs, and in March of 2008 we moved together to Winnipeg. Everyone always asks why we chose Winnipeg and the answer: because it’s so affordable here for us starting out together, and it’s also a pretty nice city (big but yet feels so small sometimes)! We were married in September of 2008, and we live in a wonderful old house (built in 1893) with our perfect and amazingly sweet and cute pets. I’m so happy here and with where I am in my life, and feel such peace and contentment. I love finding the beauty in the world and experiencing joy, adventure and love. And I am so excited to be working as a photographer and doing what I love every day!
And a few more little factoids::
I’m still a lawyer, but not practicing (which makes me so happy).
I’m a lover of all animals.
I’m a hater of spiders.
Lakes and sunshine give me such joie de vivre.
So do blue skies, cool trees, flowers, and fluffy clouds.
I hate freezing cold, and yes we have lots of that here in Winnipeg.
I love listening to (good) podcasts during the day while working (my husband turned me onto this).
I love everything about Europe and so want to go back to visit, especially to Italy.
Also to France, Scotland (I’ve never been), Germany, Spain, and Portugal (also never been).
And to all the rest of the countries in Europe, because I really want to experience them all.
I love colors and how they make me feel.
I adore exclamation points, and I also love using the dash (“-”) and parentheses.
I’m married to the most wonderful man and am so in love with him.
I love the smells of the seasons.
I usually get the Christmas spirit in October.
I think Lost is the best show ever.
Taking really long, hot showers is one of the best things in the world.
I want to learn another language and become semi-proficient in speaking and understanding it.
My husband and I want to put our future children into immersion preschools so they can be bilingual, and it will inspire us to be as well.
I love cool old houses and buildings.
And I love fields and natural wild settings.
I love watching HGTV and wish I was more handy.
My husband is extremely handy and creative, and also so wonderful in a thousand little and big ways.
My younger brother lives in Atlanta with his wife, baby son and two dogs.
My parents live in Michigan.
I love my family so so so much.
I think I’m addicted to the internet.
I love Starbucks coffee, from a Starbucks, but at home I love brewing Tim Horton’s.
I miss my friends in Chicago.
I love finding joy and beauty in everything and everyone.
I love life and feeling alive.
And I love love.
