Before I get to the photos, this is a perfect time for me talk a little about Tavia! She has become such a wonderful friend to me over the past few months, and I completely adore her and the sweet, wonderful and so giving person she is. I first met her when she called to schedule family photos last March or April and I adored her enthusiasm and excitement over the phone, and then I loved her immediately as soon as we met at the session. And then we became friends, and I can’t say enough about Tavia and her huge heart and her loyalty and her sweetness and goodness. She’s been my cheerleader when I’ve been down, and that has meant so so so much to me. And she’s absolutely so lovable and full of joy – she’s the kind of person who everyone loves and adores! So thank you, Tavia, for being you and the amazing and wonderful friend that you are, I so appreciate you and adore you!!!

Here are a bunch of my favorites! I started out with just 15 photos (cause I’m trying to cut down on the number of photos I put in posts), but I had to add more cause there are just so many I love. And I had to add in some of the silly ones, too – especially cause I know Nathan will love those!!

I first met Melanie and Cam back in March when I did their first maternity session, and I loved them immediately and had so much fun with them! Melanie is so tiny so I expected her belly to be enormous when I went for the second session, and it was definitely bigger but still so perfect and adorable just like she is! I love talking to Melanie, she’s the sweetest and nicest and kindest person ever, and I love hearing the joy in her voice and words when she talks about how much she loves being pregnant and how incredibly special this time is in her life. It so warms my heart in every way!!

I can’t wait to meet their little baby when he or she arrives! And I so look forward to getting to know Melanie more in the future and hanging out and being good friends! And I told them I’d go over and babysit for the baby any time for a couple hours so Melanie can take a nap and I so mean it – I’ll love it!!!

Thank you so much to Melanie and Cam, and to Rocco and Lucy for being so sweet and adorable and fun! I’m so excited for you both and wish for so much love and excitement for you, and Melanie – I wish you a quick and easy labor, too!!! I’m also posting a few photos from Melanie and Cam’s latest maternity shoot. Melanie is SO CUTE and I love her belly so much! She’s due on June 15 and I’m so curious to first of all know if she’ll make it to then and second to hear what the little baby is!!! I have so much fun when I’m with them and I’m looking forward to hanging out with Melanie much more in the future, she’s so wonderful!!!

And finally, I’m posting a couple photos from Victor & Leza’s engagement shoot! They were so much fun and Victor is such a goof with his expressions and playing, and he makes Leza laugh so easily and I loved seeing how much fun they have together!!! I’ll have a full post for them soon so I’ll wait until then to write more!

In other news, last night our next door neighbors (who rent the house) had a drunken party, probably just with their family members and a few friends (we heard them very late and into the night) and Jody woke up to find a huge brick (that was already in our yard) thrown through his truck’s driver’s side window and his GPS stolen (but not the charger for it). It was pretty apparent that one or more drunken neighbors came through their window which opened onto our yard, slipped in some mud when going around the garage, and then they left through the back gate and left it wide open and dropped the stick we use to prop it open in the middle of their backyard. There were also lots of empty beer cans thrown into our yard under their window. It’s so frustrating when this kind of thing happens. Jody filed a police report, cleaned out his truck, went and bought lots of lumber, dropped his truck off to have the window fixed, and then he built a fence between our houses on the property line. The previous owners of our house had built a fence around almost the entire backyard but left that part off next to that house, so Jody completed it. I helped a little, too. When Jody was going out this evening, after his window was fixed, two of the women who live in the house went walking by the gate when it was open and he was about to drive out, one woman was visibly drunk already, and the other loudly commented on “all the glass in the yard” even though she wouldn’t have been able to see any glass from where she was walking. Ohhhh it makes me so angry. So anyway though, I’m happy that they only took a GPS and didn’t do anything worse, but I’m also disgusted by their nerve and obvious disregard for anyone else. And I’m also happy that the new fence blocks their sun and light. So that was a big part of our day today. Whenever I see these people outside I’ll be giving a seriously angry stare and wishing I could tell them what I’m thinking, but I know it’s best that we don’t say anything and start anything (which is also really, really frustrating that we’re the victims but can’t hold them accountable based on fear of something worse happening if we do), and we’ve moved up our plans on when we’ll be able to move to a different home.

A little while ago I had a wonderful session with Melanie and Cam, and they are one of the cutest pregnant couples ever!! And they’re so sweet – Melanie had a beautiful spread of strawberries, bagels, toast, bananas and coffee all laid out when I got there, it was so yummy and is indicative of the wonderful and caring person she is. She’s a little nervous about the photos I know, she somehow thinks she isn’t photogenic and I don’t know how she got that idea – I think she’s so incredibly cute and looks so beautiful being pregnant, and she and Cam are so adorable together!!! We took these photos when Melanie was in her 26th week, and we’ll take more photos closer to the end of her pregnancy – I’m looking forward to seeing her belly then and knowing their little baby will come so soon!!

Melanie and Cam have two little babies already, their adorable little dogs Lucy and Rocco, and I loved that they loved me!! They have such strong little personalities and are so different, and they were so cute with how much they loved their little orange balls. Rocco is so much like a little baby, and he loves chewing on the bottom of Melanie’s jeans (especially when he’s nervous) – it’s like his little comforting blanky! And Lucy LOVES looking out the window and watching for dogs and people walking by, she’s the little watchdog!

During the session Melanie said something that I loved so much and I’ve thought of it so many times since – in describing being pregnant, she likened it to waking up every day and feeling like it’s her birthday because every day she feels such wonder and excitement at feeling her baby growing and moving inside her and knowing how much they have to look forward to. I LOVE that, love it love it love it!!!! It makes me so happy every time I think of it!

At the end, Cam drew on Melanie’s belly. He drew a face, and I couldn’t stop laughing as I was taking photos and seeing what the face was looking like. It’s so funny!!!

I’m ALMOST ready to send it, and I’ll feel so so so good once it’s off my plate. However, I’m also trying to catch up with some photos and with posting! I’m working on Melanie & Cam’s maternity session (when she was 26 weeks along) right now and I am SO IN LOVE with so so so many of their photos, plus with just how cute they are together (and they also have the cutest little doggies, too, who will be the stars of some photos of their own)!! So here’s one quick little photo of the many so they can have a little peek at what’s to come!

So what else?! Well for anyone not in Winnipeg, we HAD been having some really warm weather (above freezing) and it felt so amazing and all the snow was melting, and then it rained for a couple days which helped get rid of so much more snow – we could see the grass in our front yard and it doesn’t get much sun, and our backyard was almost completely snow-free. And then this morning I woke up, looked outside, and it was ENTIRELY WHITE. Yes, it snowed quite a bit today, and it was wet and thick snow. Next Monday it’s supposed to get above freezing so we’ll need to start all over again with melting the snow and getting spring started. I want spring!!! I want to be able to consistently shoot outside and have green grass and flowers and leaves on trees and all that!!

So LOST was on tonight and I can’t tell you how much I love that show! It’s INCREDIBLE and so fun and so inventive and on and on and on! But I really love Sawyer and Kate together, that’s what needs to happen by the end – I LOVE them together, and Sawyer is the best bad-boy/underneath sort of good-guy character possibly EVER!!! I went to Angela and Adrian’s house and we took lots of fabulous photos – this was my first maternity shoot so I’m so excited by how so many turned out! Angela and Adrian were so fun to be around – they had so much fun together, laughed together all the time, and I loved seeing their interactions and the silliness and also how excited they both are about this little baby coming! And Kasey was so adorable both with posing and with bringing his little toy over all the time!

When we were finished, I talked for awhile with the two of them about food and diet and all kinds of interesting things, and I want to learn more. They both seem so wonderful, and I wish them so much joy with the birth and meeting their new little baby and all the excitement that will come with it!
