Adam and Amanda are so cool and so laid-back, and their day was unpretentious and comfortable and beautiful and relaxed and fun and real, it was perfect. Adam had seen Amanda’s dress (which was GORGEOUS!) a number of times, she had tried it on for him before, so there was no pressure on them to have a “wow” moment. They got ready together at Amanda’s parent’s gorgeous home, and then we had a fun time taking photos all over their gorgeous property. Adam and Amanda drove together for most of the way to their ceremony at Pine Ridge Golf Club, and it was one of the coolest ceremony locations I’ve been to! Guests could walk or be driven a short distance in golf carts to this little hidden area among the trees, it was so so magical!!

Their reception followed along with their whole day – fun, relaxed, very much them! It was SUCH a great wedding, and they are such a great couple, and I loved their families and friends (and all the gorgeous cars, too!), oh and their little dog who was sooooo sweet!!! Thank you so much for having me play a part in your day, it was such an honor and I will always think of your wedding as my personal ideal!

I can’t wait to do a full post of their wedding. The ceremony was SO beautiful, and Events by Emma was amazing as always – every single thing at the ceremony and reception was perfect, gorgeous and ran so smoothly. I’ll have lots of beautiful detail shots to post!

Danielle was one of the coolest brides ever, and most relaxed and go-with-the-flow, just so cute and positive and excited! I felt like I just wanted to sit and hang out with her! She was even doing the dishes after her hair was done!! Seriously, she has the best energy and I think it would be impossible to not be happy when you’re around her, she’s that wonderful. She was so cute when she first saw her hair, I loved her reactions!! And she was so calm as she did her makeup, so relaxed, and then she even did one of her bridesmaid’s makeup! Everyone was so excited and happy, and yes there were a few tears as well, especially after Danielle put on her dress. It was a perfect morning!

Jason was a little nervous when I first saw him at the church, but as soon as he saw Danielle walking down the aisle and he went to meet her in the middle, I think everything was all perfect for him. There were some tears and also some laughter during their ceremony, and a high-five by Jason and Danielle after the kiss! They were so cute walking back down the aisle, so so so happy!! After some fun family formals, we headed to the Exchange for some group photos and then lots of time with just Jason and Danielle, it was so relaxed and fun, and they have the best laughs together so are such a joy for me to photograph – cause laughter is my absolute favorite!!

The reception was held at the Hotel Fort Garry and was filled with great food, beauty, laughs, tears, and more laughs. And I loved that Danielle had a second dress, a cute, short and flirty white dress, for the reception!! Their whole day was so fun and such a perfect day, happy, joyous, relaxed, and fun! I was so honored and happy to be a part of it, as well as to see Jason’s family again and some familiar faces!

A special note – I had the honor of working with At First Sight Cinematography for the first time and I was absolutely blown away by their Same Day Edit that they premiered during the reception. It was such amazing art, and such a wonderful keepsake of the day for Jason and Danielle to have along side their photos. I so highly recommend checking them out, they were wonderful to work with, and their art is incredible!

They haven’t had an easy go of it for the past I think 7 months. Tom was diagnosed with a brain tumor, he had surgery soon after, and since then has been on multiple rounds of chemo. He’s so upfront about it and doesn’t hide from it which I so appreciated, because I didn’t know how to approach it when I first met with them. At that first meeting, Tom shared his whole story, and Nicole sat next to him watching him closely, worrying a little, smiling and laughing a little, and had so many emotions in her eyes. I can’t even imagine all they have had to go through and still are going through and the toil it must take some days, but yet they are so beyond amazing in dealing with it. We had so much fun at their engagement session and they were laughing so much, kissing and hugging and giggling and I fell so in love with their sweetness and cuteness together! And then their wedding – there is SO MUCH I could say about it. I will try to keep it to just a few things.

Back to their ceremony first. They each wrote their own vows, and in their vows they each talked about first meeting and falling in love, about their relationship (some definite funny moments in there!), about the cancer and the last few months, they each talked about how the future is unknown, there were tears I think by every single person in the room, and there were also such sweet and funny moments, and even jokes about the tumor. So so emotional. Then afterward, the whole photo session was so much fun, Tom and Nicole are both such good, good people who I like so much, and they were sweet and cute together, they laughed so much, and they had the occasional very deep looks. The day was mostly just about celebrating their love though, and they are so cute! Their reception at the Brass Lantern in Steinbeck was perfect, and what an amazing venue!! There were some seriously funny speeches, and a lot of poignant moments, and overall it showed me even more how wonderful both Tom and Nicole are on their own, and how well loved and well respected they are. The night was filled with joy and yet Tom’s cancer was also talked about and not hidden from. After all they have been through and all that they are dealing with, the perfect example to illustrate the two of them and their wedding day in my mind is what Nicole said at the beginning of her speech at the reception, “We’re just so HAPPY!”

Tom and Nicole, your wedding day was amazing and gorgeous, and it was such an honor to share it with you and be able to document your love and this special time for you, and an honor to meet you both. I wish everything good for you, and a long future, and new treatments, and lots of love over the years.

Dan and Gillian are high school sweethearts, and what I love about them is how separately they are each such wonderful and amazing people, and they seem so different but yet they fit together so well. The way they look at each other and their sweetness and comfort was so heartwarming to see, and hearing their pastor talk about them during the ceremony, and hearing more about their love and relationship during the speeches at the reception made me love them even more. Their families are both so wonderful, too! I had so much fun hanging out with them all, and it was just such a beautiful, albeit colder than normal outside, day!

I won’t say much more and will just get to the photos, but to Dan and Gillian, I loved getting to know you both and I’m so happy for you both, you are so sweet and cute together!! Thank you for allowing me to play a part in your beautiful day!
