Jessica & Lee :: Winnipeg Wedding Photography

Jessica and Lee were married a little over a week ago, on a perfect day that, in the morning, forecast a 70% chance of heavy rain and thunderstorms. Jessica didn’t even look at the forecast, she just said, “it’s not going to rain” with absolute certainty – and she was right! There were a couple sprinkles here and there, but the big storm went south of us and I feel partly because it didn’t want to mess with Jessica!!

I started out the day with the girls and had so much fun with them, and with documenting all the little wonderful details that Jessica had put together. She wanted big bursts of color – yellow, fushia, orange, etc., and throughout the day I loved seeing how she brought that vision to life. Jody started out with the guys and they were such a fun group, and I’m so glad Jessica and Lee’s little dog Ruby was there so she could get in a few photos on their wedding day! The ceremony at the Leo Mol Sculpture Garden was absolutely gorgeous, and then it was time for lots of fun photos, and then off to the reception at Four Points by Sheraton – such a beautiful location!! The room was made extra gorgeous with help from Madeline’s Weddings, who always does such an amazing job and can transform a venue into such beauty!! And the cake by High Tea Bakery was so completely amazing, I couldn’t stop looking at it – such a work of art that it was hard to watch it being cut!

The whole day was so beautiful and well organized, and Jessica looked absolutely gorgeous (and Lee looked quite dapper as well!)! And it was also wonderful being able to see Jessica’s family again! Thank you so much you two for a wonderful day, I’m so happy for you and all that the future will bring (including that fabulous honeymoon next year to Ireland!)! I LOVE LOVE LOVE birdcage veils!!! Jessica is my first bride to wear one and I couldn’t stop photographing it – I couldn’t choose a favorite, or even two favorites, between the next three photos so I decided to put them all in just for fun!

Jessica & Lee :: Engaged!!

Jody and I just got home an hour and a half ago from our week-long visit to my family and friends in Michigan and Chicago. It was such an amazing trip and my mind is filled with so many wonderful thoughts, feelings and memories, and I cried this morning for quite awhile when we were leaving Chicago. We left at about 6:00 a.m. and many hours later we were back in Winnipeg – and James and Emma are so happy to have us home! I’m so completely exhausted after not much sleep last night and the long drive today, so I’m going to bed in about two minutes!!!

First I wanted to quickly post some engagement photos for Jessica and Lee!! They’re getting married next June and it’s going to be such a wonderful and fun day!!! I know Jessica’s family a little from helping at her sister, Roberta’s, wedding this past summer, and they’re all so wonderful as well, and I have no doubt that Lee will have some very fun family and friends – he’s so funny and I love how he makes Jessica laugh!!! I had so much fun hanging out with them, and I love that they’re up for anything and just have lots of fun together, and they even threw lots of leaves around which I loved! I’m so looking forward to getting to know them better, and to hopefully meeting their little dog Ruby soon, too!! Jessica and Lee, thank you so much for being so much fun, and also for being so patient! Here are a few of my favorites!! ::

The Welburn Family

Meet the Welburn Family! I met up with them a couple weeks ago at Kildonan Park and had such a wonderful time hanging out and taking lots of fabulous photos! I loved that they were all so into the photos and getting fun group shots and family shots and couples shots and all kinds of fun stuff. And the kids, Cameron, Grace and Bella, were so incredibly cute and fun and funny! We started off near the little kids’ playground, made our way to the pond where the kids fed the ducks, then to another playground, then played with blowing some bubbles, and eventually went back to the first playground where Grandma and Grandpa searched out the ice cream guy (bribery is good!)!! The whole session was really fun!!!

I know they’ve been waiting anxiously for these photos so I’ll get right to them.
