I love sweet photos of babies with individual family members!! Tavia, Nathan and their family are very good friends of ours, so it made it even more fun for me to make photos for them! I loved seeing big brother Nick with sweet little Lucy (and later cuddling and playing with Tyler), big sister Kaila (who is way better with babies than I am even at my age!), and big brother Tyler, who is so sweet and adorable with Lucy and such a proud big brother! And of course Tavia and Nathan with Lucy are some of my favorites! Even their dog Einstein got in on the baby cuddles!

Thank you so much you guys, you’re all fabulous!!! Here are a few of my favorites!!

I LOVE the look she’s giving her daddy in the middle photo!! I have a photo of myself as a baby giving my dad a similar look and it makes me laugh every time I see it, and my dad always says, “It was the first of many such looks over the years!”

Congratulations to our friends Tavia & Nathan!!! They had their little daughter Lucy this morning by planned c-section. She arrived at 10:06 a.m., weighed 7 lbs, 5 oz. and was 20.5 inches long. Jody and I went to visit them tonight at the hospital and she was so so sweet and so so perfect!!! Tavia is feeling very good considering, and it’s SO cute how happy Nathan is, he’s a glowing new father!!

I want to keep this short and quick so I won’t write much more! I grabbed a few photos I took tonight and quickly edited them so Tavia and Nathan could see them and have them to show! I’m so happy for you two and so looking forward to seeing Lucy so much in the future and watching her grow!!!

Tavia & Nathan :: Anytime & Expecting!!

I’m so excited about these photos, the colors and textures are so beautiful and Nathan and Tavia were such fun to be around, and they were alternately silly and fun, and then totally into each other – the perfect mix!!! They’re expecting a little girl in March so this was both a fun “Anytime” session, and also a bit of a maternity session! I can’t wait to meet their little baby when she arrives, she’s going to be so cute and so well loved, and she’ll have three big siblings to help take of her and protect her!

Before I get to the photos, this is a perfect time for me talk a little about Tavia! She has become such a wonderful friend to me over the past few months, and I completely adore her and the sweet, wonderful and so giving person she is. I first met her when she called to schedule family photos last March or April and I adored her enthusiasm and excitement over the phone, and then I loved her immediately as soon as we met at the session. And then we became friends, and I can’t say enough about Tavia and her huge heart and her loyalty and her sweetness and goodness. She’s been my cheerleader when I’ve been down, and that has meant so so so much to me. And she’s absolutely so lovable and full of joy – she’s the kind of person who everyone loves and adores! So thank you, Tavia, for being you and the amazing and wonderful friend that you are, I so appreciate you and adore you!!!

Here are a bunch of my favorites! I started out with just 15 photos (cause I’m trying to cut down on the number of photos I put in posts), but I had to add more cause there are just so many I love. And I had to add in some of the silly ones, too – especially cause I know Nathan will love those!!

I’ve been a bad blogger. I actually started a post last week called “Bad Blogger” but then I didn’t finish it, so I’m now a Very Bad Blogger. But now I’ll get better cause there’s lots of fun stuff coming up, and I finished what I’d been working on for the past couple weeks (a new website – yay!!! – it’s not the one connected to this blog (not yet) and is geared for couples and weddings and I’m so excited to finally have it up (even though it isn’t perfect and I’m already thinking of many things to change) but it’s up and live and I feel good)!! That last sentence was full of parentheses I know, but I like parentheses (they’re very handy)!! So anyway, I’ve been working on that, I’ve been so so so loving the start of spring, I’ve taken Ferd and Enzo to the park a few times, I’ve been practicing getting faster with manual mode on my camera, and starting tomorrow I’m going to go to the gym 3 times a week to start getting back in shape after sitting on my bum all winter long – for real, I’m going tomorrow and now I’ve put it out there so I can’t not go! And I’m so excited to be getting back outside for photos and can’t wait to start doing engagement sessions (it’ll get greener and prettier soon), and next weekend and the following weekend I’m second shooting with Curtis at weddings and so looking forward to that as well!! And yesterday I took photos at little August’s 1st birthday party (stay tuned for those), on Tuesday morning I have a fun newborn shoot and I can’t wait to meet the little guy, and next weekend I have a fun family shoot and the little kids sound so cute and fun so I’m so looking forward to that as well! Yay!!

Now onto this post!! Last weekend I met Tavia and her wonderful family at Assiniboine Park for some fun family photos!! It was a little colder than we would have liked, but they were so much fun that after the beginning I didn’t even notice it being chilly. Tavia’s kids are all little monkeys and they had me laughing as they climbed literally everything they saw – I have so many climbing photos, I’m going to try to put a number of them in the slideshow but it would be way too long if I put them all in! Nick is the oldest and has some super cool dyed red hair, and he climbed the highest and also showed his cool skateboarding moves. I love the photos of Kaila cause she’s so animated with her expressions – from the not-wanting-her-photo-taken expressions, to the silly expressions, she was so funny. And little Tyler is the baby of the family and he had so much little boy energy and loved his tricycle (which he was so cute on) and trying out his big brother’s skateboard. Nate and Tavia got married a few months ago and they are so cute together, I love all their sweet photos! And I loved Nate’s cowboy hat!! Their dog Carson joined us for some photos, too! I really had such a good time hanging out with the whole family that the time went by really fast. Sometimes I just wanted to hang out and talk instead of taking photos cause I felt like we were all friends! I had so many photos for this post and I had to cut them down and it’s still going to be a long post, but it’s understandable (for me) since there were 5 people so I need a lot of photos here to tell even a part of the story of the day!
